Colette is a published children’s magazine author of over 30 nonfiction articles and an aspiring children’s book author.
Her fiction works for children include stories set in the rich habitat of San Francisco’s tidal wetlands. Featuring endangered species in authentic habitats, such as the salt marsh harvest mouse and the red-legged frog, the fictional accounts focus on real conflicts in a fantasy setting. She’s run 3rd and 4/5th grade book clubs, the inspiration for her middle grade novel, The Big Bad Book Club, which was accepted to the 2018 SCBWI Nevada Children’s Writer Mentor Program.
She served for 12 years as the Co-Regional Advisor for the chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) covering seven counties around the San Francisco Bay Area with nearly 600 members.
Colette is a former marketing executive, communications consultant, national speaker, corporate board member, and served on non-profit boards. She’s proud to be among the first students in the University of California Naturalist program and holds an MBA in Marketing/Statistics.
